I know I haven’t been as good as I could be, but I’m really trying my best. ^_^ There’s just one (or two) things I really want this year and I hope you can find it in your bag of goodies.
I would love to have my very own life-size… um… “action figure” with fully articulated parts. Please see attached photo for an example.
I would take very good care of it and love it so much that one day it might become a real boy – a la Pinocchio or something.
Thank you Santa and Merry Christmas! I’ll leave you lots of yummy cookies for when you come.
P.S. I would prefer a darker haired/green eyed model (or two). Thanks again!
Picture Description: An angelic looking young man with white blonde hair and pale blue eyes lies naked in a very large cardboard box. He is surrounded by styrofoam packing peanuts and has seams at his wrists, shoulders and hips as if it he is an assembled doll.
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group’s Stuff My Stocking event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.
Austin has had a crush on Shay for months but he always becomes embarrassed and behaves awkwardly around him, and is too afraid to take the first move.
One day Austin is delivered a gift: it’s a lifelike sex doll that looks exactly like Shay. It is a very responsive and intelligent appliance: he has consciousness, even emotions; he is designed to be a real companion of his owner.
“Congratulations on your acquisition of a first quality BioServ Synthetic Companion, model 218C-S. Please view the introduction before attempting activation.”
It looked human. Well, of course it did; it was the most expensive human simulation current technology could product.
First Austin doesn’t know what to do with the gift, and he is really disturbed by the doll’s appearance, as he is the perfect image of the real Shay.
It was just a doll, a thing, a fancy robot. It was ridiculous to be embarrassed by it, or in front of it, but Austin couldn’t help it. He knew it wasn’t really Shay, but his gut didn’t believe it, and didn’t care what his brain said.
But soon they grow closer and closer. Austin enjoys his Shay’s company very much, and he becomes more and more relaxed and confident in the presence of the real Shay too.
“Did you like that?” Shay crawled up Austin’s body and settled down half on top of him Austin managed a wry smile and said, “If you have to ask then your AI isn’t as advanced as I thought it was.”
The story sets in the future, and the environment is somehow blank, but the feelings of Austin, his doubts, insecurities, and desires are so realistic. At the beginning, the story was weird and made me feel ambiguous, but weirdly, as the story progressed, it drew me in.
The sender’s identity is not a big surprise, but I loved Austin’s reaction, and the ending!
Engaging characters and a truly captivating story. Highly recommended.
