Following the events of Undead and Unreturnable, a psychic werewolf, Antonia Wolfton, receives a vision to show up at Queen Betsy’s Minneapolis home to help and falls hard for George, the fiend in the basement.
“I’m here to help the queen, not kiss your ass.”
A Fiend in Need is a short story of George, the Fiend, and Antonia, the werewolf.
Antonia has a very handy ability: she can see into the future. Her premonitions lead her to Betsy’s (sorry… Jessica’s) house, where she meets George, whose real name is Garrett, and they instantly fall in love with each other. So Antonia stays and moves in the mansion.
Very short, very quick, very rough-and-ready, but it is okay.
I’m wondering if who does the title refer to: Garrett or Antonia? Tough Garrett is marked as a ’fiend’, but I think it is actually Antonia who is ‘in need’: she needs friends, family, love, and acceptance. As an outsider among her own kind, now she is welcomed and taken into this extravagant company of vampires and humans.
I’m glad that Betsy’s team is complemented with Antonia, and I hope I will meet her again in the following books.
