Gorgeous, rock-star guys like Chase Delany don’t go for girls like me. They go for supermodels and actresses, skinny-girls who never eat and spend all day working out. I’m not that girl. So when he locked his fiery brown eyes on me for the first time, I couldn’t quite believe it was really happening to me.
It was the second night I spent with him that I’ll never forget…
Touching him was like eating a chip;
I couldn’t stop after just one.
Anna Devine is a beautiful, plus-sized woman, who works as a DJ and singer, and thinks that she is very well aware of her qualities. She has lots of experiences with men, most of it bad. She reads people well, and always knows what to expect from others. Until she meets Chase.
Chase Delany is a gorgeous, sexy rock star with a perfect body and style. So perfect that Anna evidently thinks she has no chance with a guy like him, and he is surely looking for his female version of perfection. But Chase surprises her.
“I didn’t want you to go without getting your phone number.” His bassline voice washed over me as his massive presence filled the passenger seat.
Holy shit! What do I do? If I give him my number I’m easy. If I don’t I may never see Mr. Sexypants again.
The first novella of the Big Girls Do It series is about Anna and Chase’s first earth-shattering night together, and the morning after that, when Chase claims he just got an opportunity not to be missed, which Anna thinks to be a kiss-off, so she tells him it was only a one-night stand. It seems Chase wants more than that, but is he honest?
The story is steamy, delicious, and emotional. Chase is a dream guy, and Anna is very likeable with her outer confidence and inner insecurities. It is a good start for the series.
“You owe me a song, at least.”
Jeff glanced at me, and I shrugged, stifling a sigh.
We sang “Broken” by Seether and Amy Lee. I couldn’t hold on to my conflicted feelings, not with Chase’s dulcet growl braiding perfectly with my voice.
The bar was silent as we sang, even the bartenders going still to watch. The tension rippling in palpable waves between Chase and I took the performance into overdrive, sparks crackling as our gazes met, his angry and confused and determined, mine hard and agonized. The lyrics fit our conflict perfectly.
